The UK is ready to advance with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They further noted that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the US.

UK penalties have frozen over £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources sent to Ukraine using Russian funds had exclusively been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward employing the complete amount of the seized Russia's state assets to conclude the conflict.

He added that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement is subsequent to EU representatives met in the Danish capital recently to discuss employing immobilized Russia's funds for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to take or employ frozen Russian assets, according to reports.

The total of frozen Russian assets in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on recently, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

In a message on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the United States, Europe, and the G7 - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and applying penalties," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky informed the press he would urge Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement program, under which alliance members buy arms from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.
