England’s men’s team will initiate their Euro 2028 journey at the Etihad Stadium, assuming they attain the anticipated entry for a championship staged throughout most of the United Kingdom and the Ireland.

The Etihad Stadium has not staged an England men’s match since May 2016, when the Turkish team were overcome 2-1 in a friendly, but is almost certain to host the national team for their first match on Saturday 10 June 2028.

England are scheduled to play their last two group stage games at Wembley Stadium, but, in the event of winning their group, their round of 16 match would be held at St James’ Park. Placing second would mean starting the playoffs at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The draw for the qualifiers will be staged in the Northern Irish capital, which was dropped as a tournament location last year when it was revealed the Belfast stadium could not be renovated in time, on December 6, 2026.
