President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed reporters. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to support public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the government to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to visit the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
