Brian Eno Encourages Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The team running the initiative have clarified that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative explained. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was noted for its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
